Fail.
That's a good word to describe my life currently.
XD

School is going well, if not at all boring.
Maybe I'm just not being challenged anymore. I don't know.
Though, I am enjoying my Honors English class. We do next to nothing, but I love the writing assignments. :) I excel at those.
For the first one, we had to write a personal essay. Which was cake and icing, man, cake and icing. And the second was a Definition essay. I chose Addiction. :) At the risk of sounding conceited, I expect another A.

Speaking of writing, it's going greatly. Liaison is pretty much finite, and I can't stop updating Chevalier (Six chapters in less than a month? Holy macaroni!)
Yeah. . .
I even reached way back in my loyal computer's files and started revising an Original I haven't even seen in about a year. Oh, the memories and grammar errors. XD

I think I've also lost my passion for Chorus, too. I've adopted that attitude of, "Aw, who cares?". No doubt of my recent life struggles which will not be mentioned here. Sigh.

I need to find a Halloween costume for a party too. The only appealing suggestion has been a pumpkin, and the only reason why it's appealing is because I could create freckles and braid my hair. I love braiding my hair. I feel like freaking Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm.

By the way! I went and saw Fame with a friend, and was awed. Epic Win. E.W. I'm gonna live forever. . . !
We might be starting up a Tuesday Movie Night by taking advantage of the local cinema's Stimulus Tuesday offer. Two bucks for popcorn and a drink. Unfortunately, they didn't lower the movie ticket price either, so it ends up being around eleven bucks. But, hey, the price of entertainment in our small/big/little town.

I also am back on the reading trail.
Some books I've read in the past few weeks:
Alice In Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carrol (who I'm sure was on crack when he wrote that)
Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie (who is a genius and made my heart swell with childlike wonder)
Graceling by Kristin Cashore (who is a modern genius. I can't wait for her next book!)
Fire by Kristin Cashore (if possible, even more epic win than Graceling. They're a fantastic pair of books)
And now I'm reading First Test by Tamora Pierce to satiate my recent obsession with knights and medieval era and magic.
I'm open to suggestions.

CDs everyone must buy:
Fantasies by Metric - I don't listen to girl singers much, but the lead singer is so . . . butch it works. And when she hits those high notes, I am truly appreciative of the Alto range. It's kind of Soft Metal Rock Pop, but I don't want to generalize it with comparisons. They're a good band and I want to see what they'll do in the future. Some songs to download from Metric: Gimme Sympathy, Sick Muse, Gold Guns Girls, Stadium Love, Help I'm Alive.
Ocean Eyes by Owl City - Oh, be still my heart. This is the third album of this amazing band, cough Adam Young cough. He brings some new sounds, some great duets (along with Matt Thiessen, who is the lead singer of my favorite band, Relient K), and some even better lyrics. That's why I love this band so much. The lyrics are magic for your eardrums. Songs to download: The Bird And The Worm (great Fall intro song), The Tip of the Iceburg, Vanilla Twilight, Tidal Wave.

Well, that's all from me for now.
:)
Have a good day, guys,
Nicole.

Something of substance. . .

Sue me, LiveJournal. Sue me.

The last first day of high school is tomorrow.
I'm not ready.
I'm gonna cry. :'(
Screw being strong!

Writing has been interesting lately.
Original stories take a backseat to my FanFiction writing, unfortunately.
But lately, not only have I been reading over some of my Originals, I've actually received an idea!
(Le gasp!)
XD
Granted, it's a pretty crappy idea, but an idea no less.
Everything counts. :P

For some reason, there have been some really enticing movies coming out recently.
Ones I want to see:
Julie & Julia (pretty fracking awesome, considering food + Meryl Streep)
G.I. Joe (because who doesn't want to see Channing Tatum in a fully armed battlesuit thing?)
Shorts (but I'll probably wait and Netflix it later)
Dance Flick (it's been a while since a movie like Step Up has been produced. Me wants.)
Post Grad (Alexis Bledel has been under the radar since Sisterhood; I wanna see if she's any good by herself)
Disney's A Christmas Carol (Jim returns!!!!)
New Moon (just so I can go and make fun of it.)
Alvin and somethingorothers sequel (chipmunks = boss)

Yeah. And everything else looks like crap.
:D

Yep.
So that's vaguely what's been going on, so yeah.

Ugh. I'm getting butterflies.
XD

Just something I found on FF. . .

MetroCon Awesomeness.

  • Jun. 23rd, 2009 at 1:40 PM

So, MetroCon is OVER!!!!!!
We got there Thursday, left Saturday night around 8ish? Time was weird. . . Eh.
Obviously, I can't remember everything, so I'll just give you the highlights of the trip.

Thursday:
Left D-Town around 10 in the morning.
Arrived just outside of Tampa around 7 in the evening.
Got settled in at where we were staying.
Went to eat at good local place (chicken was epic).
Returned to sleeping-place.
Did not sleep.
Played the Pairing Game with Nik and Abs.
Gorgeous sleep.

Friday:
Up and at 'em!
Had strange crisis with hair. XD Note to self - learn how to do buns.
To METROCON AND AWAY!!
Waited in an AMAZINGLY short line for Pre-Reg.
1st KellyJane and Jenn sighting - Freaked. Ask Abs. She was witness.
Walked around for quite a bit.
2nd KellyJane and Jenn sighting - Freaked again.
Somehow joined the line for the Dealer's Room.
Ransacked Dealer's Room (ears!!!!).
Panels? (Demyx Time, FanFic 4 Dummies)
And then I did my own panels (Lolita for Less + Sewing 101)
Visits to the end of the world of MetroCon.
Made fun of people still in Pre-Reg. line. Ha, suckas!
Filmed. . .
Sleeping place!!!!!

Saturday:
Got to sleep late. :D
Packed + loaded stuff into van.
Amazed by how many MORE people were there than Friday.
Walked around. . .
Pictures!!! Both taking pics and getting taken pictures of (Abs and Nik)!
Socializing. . .
Crazy epic dragging down the hallness.
Lolita Fashion 101 panel while Abs and Nik did the Ninja Festival.
Bought presents for Jake and Kendall.
Walking, walking, walking.
Brad Swaile, Kirby Morrow, and Brian Drummond panel.
Cosplay Carnivale!!!! (lack of skits depressed me)
Walked around for the final time. . .
Left MetroCon.
Went to eat dinner at McD's in cosplay and ears!
Got stared . . . and cursed at. XD
Left Tampa and returned home around 2 in the morning.
Ah, the eighties.
;D

Of course, there was a lot more that went on, but that would involve excessive details that I can't remember, so this is just a vague-ish synopsis of what happened.
I'll try and put together a compilation video and upload it to YouTube.
:D

Also!
Everyone should go and buy + read Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen.
It's her latest book and it's really, really good. Probably a cross between This Lullaby and Keeping the Moon (which are earlier works).
So! Buy it. Read it. Love it.

Byes, kids.

MetroCon is HERE!

  • Jun. 17th, 2009 at 9:38 PM

Registration: Done!
Packing: . . . Kinda done!
Charging of technological devices: To be accomplished during the night!
Cashing paycheck from work: To be accomplished in the morning! (XD)
:D
I guess I'm all set, then, ne?
We leave tomorrow around nine, so I'm getting up at seven to get ready, do a last systems check on my suitcase, take Kendall to VBS, and run by the bank so I'll have some munny.
:D
I can't believe it's finally here!!! Yay!!!!!!!
:D
So, I doubt I'll update any while I'm in Tampa, so I guess I'll update this journal after MetroCon.
GLEE!!!!!
So excited!!!
:D
Bye!!!!

MetroCon Countdown: HERE!!!!
Senior Pictures: Seven days.

So, updates, updates.
:)

I have obtained my casual cosplay clothes for TenTen for MetroCon.
Yay!!!
Today, I went to Abs's house, where she and Nik were watching Abs's mom sew Nik's vest thing for her Matsuri cosplay. (IT LOOKS GREAT!!!)
Abs let me see her binding in person (which makes her look miraculously like a boy :D) and she also let me view her casual Shikamaru cosplay which is also really good. :D
MetroCon is turning out to be a very, very close ordeal. :D
I AM SO EXCITED!!! More than excited. Ecstatic, is more of the right word.
Abs's wig and flak jacket aren't here yet, but I'm sure they will be soon.
:D

On another note, I am about halfway finished with the next installment of War and Politics which you can read here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4945112/1/War_and_Politics.
For those of you readers that are from FF and are reviewers, I haven't figured out yet how I am going to do TenTen's piece. . . That's still undecided.
I don't know, I might just do Neji's POV for Chapter 10, since he is returning to Japan (hello, history!) and reuniting with his family.
So. Still undecided, but it will play out in the next few hours . . . or days.
Hm.

Some events we (Abs, Nik, and I) will be attending at MetroCon:
The Fantasy Masquerade (speaking of which, I need to find a dress. . . thing)
Club Metro (but only for a few hours because we are young and do need sleep)
Lolita for Less (which I might be attending alone)
The Metro Ninja Festival!!! (Ha-ya!)
Demyx Time (with KellyJane and Jenn!!! I'm so excited to meet them!)
Fanworks Insanity (maybe)
Fanfiction for Dummies
DN with Brad Swaile, Brian Drummond, and Kirby Morrow (probably)
I probably need to go to the Masquerade Dance Lessons. . . I have no idea how to dance. I just shuffle around or don't dance at all. XD
And I WILL attend a showing of the AMV Block in the Screening Room because I went to Kami-Con, poked my head in the AMV room, and stayed for like, an hour. It was absolutely fantastic.
:D
So, what are you going to? Are you going to MetroCon at all?
:D
Later gators.
Coley out.

MetroCon

  • Jun. 7th, 2009 at 6:08 PM

MetroCon.
Is.
In.
11.
Days.

Coley is excited. :D
Completely and ridiculously excited.
My compadres will be cosplaying as Minato Namikaze and Matsuri from Naruto.
I will only be "casually" cosplaying as TenTen.
:)
Anyone else going?

Speaking of Naruto. . .
Chapter 450.
Wtc.
Really, Kishie, wtc.
DANZO? ARE YOU KIDDING? DANZO?!
Gah.
I swear. There better be an extreme throwdown between Naruto and Danzo over Hokageship.
And then, when Naruto beats Danzo, Tsunade would magically wake up and it'd be happy sunshine!
You know, since Naruto AGAIN is thwarted by the title of Hokageship.
Which he's totally going to get.
Eventually.

Anywho, today I went shopping a little bit for my casual cosplay which is now completely taken care of. Yippee!
And I have begun the process of washing/cleaning out my car.
Yes, it is a process.
I need to begin washing the outside in a few minutes.
I will try tackling the inside tomorrow when I have more daylight hours. I really shouldn't have started this so late. . .

So!
In conclusion, MetroCon tickets are taken care of; I just need to print the actual ticket out tomorrow and then we're set for now.
This week, I'll be helping out Abs and Nik with their cosplays, doing whatever they need me to since I don't have one I'm working on.
If you're going to MetroCon, comment below!

Coley out.

Since LJ keeps bugging me. . .

  • Jun. 2nd, 2009 at 6:30 PM

Well.
Hello, stalkers.
So, I thought I'd join the bandwagon and get an LJ.
Since I'm going to be famous one day, I thought I'd start early and go ahead and create an account and begin to put down embarrassing moments throughout my life, including slipping in milk and having to complete the rest of  the day at school in wet, milky jeans.
It was uncomfortable. Trust me.
But, yes, I thought I'd save myself some sort of rejection/embarrassment and go ahead and put that out there. Nice try, paparazzi.
Secondly, to those of you still reading:
Hi. My name's Nicole, though I have been previously dubbed Coley (which I love) so refer to me as that, if you will.
I live in Alabama. And I'm literate.
Ha.
Now that I've insulted my entire state, I'll move along to why I'm really here:
To give my thoughts on anything I wish.
You didn't see that coming, did you?
Well, YouTube only supplies me with so much freedom. . . And my camera's almost dead. And since I'm much more wittier in written word (ha, can't you tell?), I thought this would be best.
LiveJournal is a very nice medium between FanFiction.net (where I write strictly fiction) and YouTube (where I'm a complete nerd manganism). Here, I believe I'll be able to tell you what I really think.
Ah, the freedom of the 1st Amendment.
What a joy.
Well, I'll speak with you all again soon. Right now, I am in some desperate need of supper.
:)
